2024 BASE ACTIVITIES
SLO SUBVETS participate in the Veterans History Project. The Central Coast Veterans Memorial Museum (CCVMM) is certified by the Library of Congress to collect first-hand accounts of Americans who have served our country in the United States Armed Forces. SLO Sub Vets participate in the USSVI Western Region Roundup, April 11 - 13, 2024. Hosted by USSVI Bremerton Base. Activities included a tour of the USS Nebraska SSBN 739, the US Naval Undersea Museum, a banquet and guest speakers including LCDR Amber Cowan, XO of the USS Kentucky SSBN 737
SLO BASE Webmaster visits the Pacific Fleet Submarine Museum at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.
SLO BASE Webmaster visits the Wesley Bolin Memorial Plaza’s new submarine memorial at the Arizona State Capitol in Phoenix.
SLO Base Webmaster visits the U. S. Navy Submarine Centennial Monument at the Naval Academy during his Central Coast Honor Flight for veterans.

A replica of Juan Rodriquez Cabrillo’s San Salvador returned to Morro Bay on August 11, 2023, for a 10-day stay, docking at the south T pier. SLO SubVets were docents to guide visitors through this incredible replica of the first foreign ship to sail the west coast of California.
